He said that all children are good, and good things will happen to them when teachers and parents have clear vision, share resources and be involved in providing good things for their children’s education. Prof. Dayanandan explained what a playschool such as Tiaano is. Spontaneous playing helps develop language and thinking (cognitive) skills as children observe, analyze and make decisions. Children also develop social skills, and their jumping, skipping, running and falling develop small and large motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial judgment and overall physical skills. Reading habits, puppets and storytelling help broaden their imagination and creative skills. Prof. Dayanandan urged the parents to sing to their children everyday and told them singing when children are below five years of age helps in language skills and memory. He also advised parents to take them outdoors and not to keep them hooked to television or videogames or pressurize them with too many extracurricular activities beyond what the school offers.A puppet show by Mrs. Jayanthi Kannan thrilled the young and old alike. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Ms.Janani (Tiaano Vidyashrm Teaacher) and singing of the National Anthem. Sl.
